Andrea Derani is a visual artist born in the interior of São Paulo, where she began her education in the arts before working as an environmental lawyer.

Her creative process emerges from a state of invisibility: the handmade material of a community that the world barely knows or chooses to ignore, the woman erased by history, the spirituality that does not fit into categories. The process begins long before the studio. For her, art is not the beginning, but the moment when the invisible finally takes form.

She continues this research by investigating, through relationships, their affects and effects, not proposing conclusions but provoking questions.

Her practice moves between surface and volume, bringing together distinct technical procedures in compositions that explore relationships of tension, continuity, and formal reorganization.

She lives and works in São Paulo.
